The road from my office leads through the small hamlet of Pasar Lutong, Sarawak. It’s a microcosmos of Malaysia itself – Iban tribes people, Kadazan, Moslems, Indians, Fou Zhou and Haka Chinese live here together in harmony. Far from the false glamour typical of the big cities, places such as Pasar Lutong have retained a lazy lifestyle and genuine smiles. Now it is 11:30, and the restaurants in town get ready for lunch. Quite often, the noodles are hand-made. Bon appetit.
